For the first time since 2019, the Alberta Elite Hockey League handed out the U18 AAA Provincial Championship banner on Wednesday evening, and just like in 2019, it went to the Calgary Buffaloes.
The Buffaloes defeated the Fort Sask Rangers 4-1 in Fort Saskatchewan on Wednesday to sweep the best-of-five series three games to none.
After allowing just four goals in three games, Buffaloes goaltender Nicholas Jones was named the Playoff’s Most Valuable Player.
With no Provincial Championships being played in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Calgary Buffaloes are now back-to-back league champions, having won the title in 2019.
