AEHL Provincial Championships set to begin

The Hockey Alberta Provincial Championships, presented by ATB, are underway in the Alberta Elite Hockey League.

AEHL U15AAA

Five teams are meeting in Edmonton for the U15 AAA provincial championship beginning March 21 and concluding on March 24.  The tournament kicks off Thursday morning at Meadows East Arena with the Airdrie Xtreme and Red Deer Rebels. The St. Albert Raiders Sabres, Sherwood Park United Cycle Flyers fill out the remainder of the field. The championship final is set for 1:15 P.M., on March 24.

AEHL U18AAA

Meanwhile, the finalists in best of five league championship final to determine the provincial champs in the U18 AAA division have been decided. The final series pits the top ranked Calgary Buffaloes against the Sherwood Park Ennis Kings after both teams won their second-round matchups in four games. Game 1 of the championship series is set for 3:30 P.M., on March 23.

The winner advances against the British Columbia champions to determine who will represent the Pacific region at the 2024 Telus Cup.

The U17 AAA provincial championship is slated for April 4-7 in Leduc.
