Registration for the 2023 Alberta Cup Regional Camps will open Monday, January 9 at 11:00am MT on the Hockey Alberta and Alberta Cup websites. All 2008-born Male players, registered with a Hockey Alberta Sanctioned Minor Hockey Association or Hockey Canada Sanctioned Accredited School are eligible to register and try out for the Alberta Cup.
Positions at regional camps are limited and awarded on a first-come first-serve basis. There will be three Regional Camps occurring simultaneously between March 31 – April 2 at the following locations:
- Calgary (DH NESS)
- Red Deer (GWH Canada Games Centre)
- Spruce Grove (SG Agrena)
Please ensure that prior to registration, you have reviewed the 2023 Alberta Cup Regional Directory to determine what region your child resides in. Athletes are only permitted to register for the region in which they reside and the position (goaltender, defence or forward) for which they wish to be considered for the Alberta Cup. Any athlete who registers for an incorrect region or position may have their registration refunded less an admin fee and will not be guaranteed acceptance to attend the regional camp tryout, subject to the correct region/position’s availability.
Should the region/position be sold out at the time you try and register, please email mkraichy@hockeyalberta.ca to be added to a waitlist for that position/region, do not try and register for another region.
Visa and Mastercard are the only payment methods that are accepted through the payment platform. American Express and debit cards will not be approved. Please ensure that you are prepared with an accepted method of payment.
The cost of Regional Camp will be $250.00 plus tax and an admin fee and includes:
- Four (4) ice sessions
- One (1) practice jersey
- Access to three (3) zoom webinars in March to help athletes prepare for the Regional Camp, Short Term Competition and General, and the Team Alberta Program.
Two (2) teams of twenty (20) players will be selected from each of the three regions to compete at the Alberta Cup event. The cost of the event is still TBD but is typically approximately $1000 and includes:
- Team Training Day April 15 (3 hours of practice ice + full day of team building)
- 5 days and 4 nights of accommodations and meals (including bussing to offsite meals)
- One practice on Wednesday of the event
- 5 games from Thursday – Sunday
- Team jersey and socks
- Team Alberta Apparel
The 2023 Alberta Cup will take place April 26-30 at the Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre in Red Deer.
